Marina Bay as Marina Bay; Choa Chu Kang as Choa Chu Kang

“We started off with (the name) and after looking at everything, the name that really tugged at the heartstrings was in front of us. The name itself is not new, but what has been used informally so far has endeared itself to all parties.” - Mah Bow Tan, spending $400,000 of taxpayer’s monies to rename Marina Bay as Marina Bay.

Straits Times report dated 26th Jan, 2003

With the above news extract from newspaper, I decided to embark on a project to rename the place that i live in; from Choa Chu Kang to:

And

After a very intensive meeting and discussion with my team members. We decided to rename Choa Chu Kang to Choa Chu kang.

Above it are 2 designs for Choa Chu Kang community. We will be explaining our designing concept to better understood our intentions.

First Design

  1. A vibrant community
  2. Breeding youthfulness to the community

Second Design

  1. Helping one another hand-in-hand
  2. A society full of positive of two colors

And finally the 3rd reason for two of the designs are:

  1. We charge S$100,000 and that's 1/4 of what that branding company charge for re-branding Marina Bay.

The above are our intentions and ideas of repacking the New Choa Chu Kang. Kindly accept our proposal and not to fall into the trap of wasting taxpayers' money to that company.

Happy Birthday Deer!

Updates

My buddy has a company. Basically deal with designing. If you need any designing stuff for your business, etc.. you can consider finding him. His sample of design can be found at this link: http://www.ohitsuji.com/

Had a couple of thing happen this week. Hmm, let me go through..

Umbrella, flower pot and a slipper were threw from somewhere from my block neighbours to the ground floor. It happened right in front of my house. My parents said they didn't want to get involve when I wanted to go out and have a check. I was so disappointed with their comments and thoughts. Anyway, I told my parents that i want to make a police call and they dis-allow me to do so. They told me that "Don't think you are a SPF NSF, you can be (this and that, etc.). Oh, come on. This is the responsibility of every citizen. Who cares whether i am a policeman or what. I secretly make a call anyway and told them what i saw.

My foot rot is much getting better now. The cream given by private doc is definately better than those in polyclinic. Well, this tells me that if I have some illness that i am in desperate need to get it cure, head towards private clinic.

Found 2 online chatting buddies while at work. Namely, madeline and jenyin. Both were my sec sch mates and to think back, it's nice that we are still keep in touch. [applicable to gals only] haha. and not to forget my twin too.

I'm back to the usual of ordering lunch rather than either starving or eat less during lunch time. Realising the fact that i am no better [that my tummy keep expanding], i decided to order lunch and exercise even more. But that will applicable after my thai trip!

Work as usual, was fantastic. Just that I think i will not be free this week as there are reports to be submitted for this month. In short, OT time!

Helped Pin, a friend from thai, to check on a shop in chinatown. Apprantly, the shop owner bought items from Pin and didnt' pay up deposit for quite sometime. So, Pin is getting worried and asked me for a favour to check out his shop. And i feel like a PI [Private Investagator]. Took tonnes of photos outside his shop and the items they are selling and email those to her.

Kinda celebrate my father's bdae by going to a coffeeshop for dinner after his work. Paid for the dinner with my mother and my budget spending for this month is finished even before my next allowance to be credited. But on my way, I spotted something:

Yes, THAI minimart. Hmm, I actually forgot that there was this minimart that was so near me and i went in to check the prices and it's not really cheap after all.

But one thing attracted me is that, the baht exchange rate they offer is really exceptionally good. S$1 : 22.75 Baht. I bet that this is the best rate you can't find elsewhere. But if you happen to, kindly notify me! haha

BTW, not to sidetrack too much, Happy 51st Birthday Father.

I dropped tonnes of hints to my parents that i will be going to Thai this month. Like;

  1. I'm going to change money for thai trip from here very soon (upon seeing the money changer at the above thai minimart)
  2. Order thai dishes and told stories of meal time when i was in thai and emphasised that i will revisist there soon
  3. Keep mentioning thai friends and stories to my parents during the dinner

Anyway, I already booked the air tix and lodging in thai. They can't do anything now. YES!!

Been watching movie trailer of Pirates of Carribean 3 and Spiderman 3. I'm been fascinated by the quality of HD [High Definition] technology for the screen. I thought DVD motion pictures are good enough for the current LCD/Plasma TV. After watching and comparing HD motion Pics and DVD motion pictures, the satisfaction of watching crystal clear pictures quality is there. Maybe you should download and watch it for yourself. And by the way, it is playing at 8990 KB/seconds. so make sure, you have enough RAM to watch it. Here's the link where i downloaded the trailer from. http://movies.ign.com/trailers.html

And thanks Soo Teck for lending me Bird Thong Chai CD.

NS40 Exhitibtion

Seized the chance to claim 1.5 Off day when my colleague let go of a timeslot for NS40 duty, taking advantage of the fact that it's at Jurong East bus interchange.

Was listening to thai song from my bro's computer and surprisingly, my mother knew that it was a thai song when she came into the room.

anyway, headed down to JE for duty lor. Shit the weather for so extremely hot and stuffy. I was so sticky, sweaty even before the event starts.

and well, it's interesting to wear full-u at public places officially. but at the same time, it could means that you are also inviting trouble if you are not self-checking one's behaviours, words used, etc.. and certainly, i dun get use to the staring from the members of the public.

My station. letting ppl to play game. (it's actually a lame game from the internet, and i'm not sure why it can attract a lot of people)

The kids were quite hard to handle. Everyone wanted to play the game. Some took longer than usual. I had to be the Mr "Nice" Policeman that i cannot scold them. So i have to give souviner to shoo them off.

And i saw a lot of kiasu people too. There were this game where we will give a bottle of highlighters for 1st set of qns answered 100% correct and then a mug for 2nd set of qns, also answered 100% correct. There was this parent with his child keep on trying and trying and got the cheek to call out for me that they got 100% ans correct.

I wanted to laugh at them. because they took such a long time to ans 5 qns correctly. and the fact that they keep on repeating the same set of qns. must have been blinded by greed.

There were this 3 gals (children i meant) came to my station and play game. 1 of them asked me how was the game played. Upon explaining to her, she translated it and explained to her 2 sis. Initially, i thought they were talking in cantonese but hearing harder, it seemed like they are chatting in thai! So, i asked the gal, are you from thai? She seemed surprised. Ok, so, not that bad that i can actually recognize thai language from cantonese.

My exhibition pass.

The weather was so hot, humid, stuffy till an extend that i couldn't tolerate the smell from my uniform. Hmm, it's quite sour, smelly. Maybe like those sour with cheese potato chips. :p

oh, yar. thanks TWIN to visiting me and entertaining me down there for a while.

Logic in Lessons / Lessons in Logic

If your father is a poor man, it is your fate.
but, if your father-in-law is a poor man, it's your stupidity.

I was born intelligent - education ruined me.

Practice makes perfect.....
But nobody's perfect......
so why practice?

If it's true that we are here to help others,
then what exactly are the others here for?

Since light travels faster than sound,
people appear bright until you hear them speak.

How come "abbreviated" is such a long word?

One should love animals.
They are so tasty.

Behind every successful man, there is a woman
And behind every unsuccessful man, there are two.

Every man should marry.
After all, happiness is not the only thing in life.

The wise never marry. and when they marry they become otherwise.

"Your future depends on your dreams"
So go to sleep

There should be a better way to start a day
then waking up every morning

The more you learn, the more you know,
The more you know, the more you forget
The more you forget, the less you know
So.. why learn...

A bus station is where a bus stops.
A train station is where a train stops.
On my desk, I have a work station....
what more can I say........

Itchy Foot

Thanks to the footrot. I didn't have a good night sleep. Because I'll apply cream onto my foot and in order not to dirty the bed, i have to sleep in a postition where the applied medicated area will not come in contact with the bed. As such, I restrained my sleeping posture and resulting a disturbed sleep.

booked air tix for thai trip. Left the returning trip air tix that is not booked yet.

Alrite, that's not the key topic for this entry.

My mum is fumin with my father's silly actions and i think i have to side with my mum this time round.

My mom's workplace has a colleague and let's call her X. X and my mom are in a not-quite-good working relationship.

Factfile
X critisized my father (via my mum) of his poor sense of fashion.
X has a bf at the moment which my father knows about this too from my mum.

Case Report 1
My father brought his colleague to X's workplace claiming that he wanted to get an earpiece with his colleague. Then my father told X not to tell my mum about his visit.

My mum got to know this later on the same day when X complained about a guy (my father's colleague) keep looking at her when she was working.

And, that sparked a melee at home. My mother flared up and qns my father

Q: why he went to their (X and my mum) workplace today?
A: I went to get an earpiece.

Q: Then why did you tell X not to tell me about your visit?
A: (then the ans change) Want to introduce him (father's colleague) to X.

Ok this is silly. Really god-damn silly. 1st, you got complained by X for the sense of fashion and the kind of attire he wore it work can really kill one appetite.

A copper-brown pant. A color shirt (varies). and a sky blue color over-shirt.

2nd, my father knows that X is attached and still bring along a guy with the intention to introducing to X, adding on that he is a 傻傻 的. (idiot) "OMG, i dun know what my father is doing and thinking".

And now, X is so sicked and disgusted with my father's colleague when he kept looking at her and my mum feared that she might complained to her boss.

Case Report 2
My father is so actively enthu about not-learning of new things. Every letter came addressing to him. He opened it and called out for him without even bothering and trying to know what was written. Yes, he doesn't know eng words but he is not actively learning about it.

One can see the enthusiasm in him to push the letter to me and expecting me to settle it for him.
Eg: A letter from CPF addressing to my bro regarding the payment of poly sch fees as my father's CPF was used to pay for the sch fees. Thought he would make the call to ask whether can the deadline be extended as my bro is at overseas for training.

But before i expect him to talk, i already know what was he thinking. So he passed me the letter and asked me to call for him.

and i'm worried for his life should he is forced to resign/sacked from this job. 1st, he don't know eng and he is physically weak. And of course, that will put me into some worries in the future. Retirement for him, more savings from me and the list goes on.

Now i sympathise my mom for all the things she did for the past 2 decades. She, too, doesn't know eng in the past. But she actively learn eng from me and my bro, tuition teachers, conversation between ppl and ppl, and she can read a simple letter now.

And my father don't know how lucky he was to get a wife like her. While my mom is on the verge of fed-up with his attitude and resulting in tonnes of nagging, on the other side, my father thought she was just purely nagging and creating dins out of nothing.

And whenever they quarreled, they threw out their points of arguments, by looking at me, via me, to get to the other side.

and this situation can be serious because they dun face each other when quarreling. (and that tells me how strained the relationship is)

gosh.. all i can do now is to talk over here and that's one good thing about blog. but maybe i need a god for miracle to happen. and i meant a CHINESE god.

sigh.. i'm lost. I dun like that. Coming home everyday to face such thing.

Routine Blogging

Congratulates to germaine for her having pass the driving test on tue.

Nothing much worth mentioning these few days. Went to CHC to kill time last fri since i'm so damn free. Made a couple of friends. They are nice.

Will be going to Ubin this saturday for my 1st volunteer assg. Hopefully, nothing will happen. and hope everything will be fun too. Ehh, anyway, I dun think i need a map to go around there.

And I finally decided to come clean with my mother about my thai trip. I guess i will invite my friends to come to my house and together persuade my mother to change her mind. But again, this will be a 50-50 chance. Hope I will be able to go. Pls pray for me.

Been listening to POTC soundtracks for the past 2 years+ and after looking through at the latest POTC movie poster, i was scanning for the "Music Composer" and was very pleased to see the same name again. Ok, i might be the weird guy who likes to listening to soundtracks what is not a song.

And i am quite envy of the actors and actresses. Their figures look the same as they did, on their first appearances from their debut movie.

I've got an ugly foot-rot. Interested party, can zoom in the photos.

Silver

After being the 1st NSF to complete the whole IPPT yesterday, a reporter came interviewed me regarding the thoughts of the IPPT i participated, after congratulating me.

Reporter: You seemed tired after the IPPT, aren't you?
Me: Yup, I am now. I was aiming for a silver and it came true.

Reporter: What was your previous result for IPPT, maybe say, when u were a trainee?
Me: I just got a Pass for my last IPPT. Frankly speaking, though, I aimed for a silver, I had my doubt on achieving that.

Reporter: Why?
Me: The killer IPPT stations for me are chin-up and Standing Broad Jump.

Reporter: Didn't you make it in the end? What motivated you?
Me: Yup, I was so delighted when i made it for chin up and SBJ as i just met their minimum criteria. Well, it's the monetary that pushed me along to meet Silver target.

Reporter: Hmm, only monetary? nothing else? I heard from ur colleagues that there's 1 real intention. What's it? admit it.
Me: (amazed by the reporter) Err, well, yes, i can use the money to subsidise my overseas trip next month.

Reporter: So, how much you got now?
Me: I 've a total of $300 from ORD Shooting and IPPT. And my trip basic expenses summed up a total of $400. So, I just have to fork out at least $200 to cover the remaining expenses in thai.

Reporter: Seemed pretty advantageous to you, isn't it?
Me: Yup. I'm also saving up my lunch money as I'm given $4 for 8 hrs of work a day and with that I can save $80 a month. So, in short, i'm virtually not spending any money for the overseas trip.

Reporter: I believe you are not going overseas for just holidaying, right? What's your secondary objective?
Me: Nothing much. To meet up my thai friends over there.

Reporter: Alrite, good luck to you then. Thank you for your time.
Me: My pleasure

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've gotten a new role at my workplace. UWO. Figure it out yourself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went for Recreation Training for soccer after work. Scored 4 goals. A hattrick and an own goal. OMG.

Borrowed a Thai CD media from library. Hopefully it will aid my thai language. and I ripped it to MP3 for PERSONAL USE.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And thanks TWIN for waking me up at 2.45 am and subsequently, can't get to sleep for a few mins for an hourly interval. but dun worry, i'll still treat you nice.
