Bought new items before the Chinese New Year is around the corner. Spent $39.95 on a shirt (and w/ probably a outfit)



I know this pic looks quite awful from this pic as i laid it down on the sofa. But i think it should look ok when one wears it else why did i buy??

Bought a watch also, courtesy of the contribution by the others for my birthday present from City Chain. It's not a bad deal to go with my mother as she bargained an additional 10% more discount, totally up to 20+% .

Mother: How much is the watch?
Salesman: $159
Mother: Any discount?
Salesman: 10% discount
Mother: Huh? Only 10%? I think you can give more la, right?
Salesman: Hmm...
Mother: (Cut in) I bought a watch over here a few months back and there's one gave me 50% off on a watch instead of the described 2 watches.
Salesman: Hmm, like that uh? Ok la, can la.. 20%. Showing $156 on the calculator
Mother: Still going to bargain. She said: "Discount to $150 la. It's easier to pay too.
Salesman: Deal. Anyway , i know that you want it and i'm waiting for you to speak up.

In the end, i bought the watch at $150 from $195. Unbelievable, right?

Well, the power of negotiation. That's yet another precious lesson i learnt today. Imagine that a $45 is being wrote off in less than just few mins of talk. Use it and convert and negotiate for better deal of higher fees.

World's Economic - Foolish or hardworking

Newcastle appointed Kevin Keegan as their head coach and manager to try to rescue Newcastle poor run of results. Take a look at the pic below.



I actually don't mind to be Kevin Keegan considering that there's such a pretty fan supporting me my club.

Haha.. Another sports news. In tennis, Australian Open was. Unseeded Tsongo beat Nadal 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Tsongo was impressive when i was watching the match via sopcast internet TV, he gave Nadal no chance to fight back with his wonderful play and serve.

Talk about the world economic condition of recent weeks.

Recently, there are talks of potential recession throughout the world. Thanks to US and her president who raised the tax rates a couple of weeks ago.

And recently, the Fed Reserve released an economic stiumlus deal that helps to cut down the pitfall of economic recession.

Question popped out from my mind. He raised the tax in a manner he wanted. That, as a result, causing worries over the world and poor stock market performances in its initial stage. Then Citi Group retrenched thousands of their staffs because of the Bush's decisions.

What Bush did practically seemed to be like a twist of fingers and without any effort, he caused so much worry throughout the whole world.

Now, to 'rescue' his folly, he planned and released a $150 BILLION of relief package. When i was reading the news, i was so fascinated. In order to rescue his decision, US had to spend an astonishing $150 billion!!

I can't believe that his decision cost so much money! If he used these funds to develop and better the life of the ppl in the Middle East, I think ppl will turn to work instead of terrorism to better their life! In this way, he can also cut down the terrorist acts at the same time!

And the ppl working in the Fed Reserve thinks that they are the "god" who thought they rescue the world where in my opinion, i think they were manipulated by that Bush.

I really can't understand why the US ppl voted for him on majority for him to resume his presidential seat for the last President Election.

Anyway, i'm just pissed of how the money is spent. I hope that there will be a good US president who thinks logically.

An Eventful Day (With special highlight)

Work had dragged me down in terms of mentally. Honestly speaking, i really didn't have anything much to do yet feeling lethargic. Whatever it is, I was feeling that way so much so that I don't bother to think much to blog and that explains why I had not been writing any entry since 1st of Jan 08.

Just for some updates, and also to keep track of myself in the future what i had done.

On the 1st week of Jan, there wasn't much activities except for work.

As for the 2nd week of Jan, I was about to sign up for thai lang basic course when my senior told me that there would be an monthly update of patch, etc to be done on saturdays. As the course will be conducted on saturday, therefore there was clashes of timing and with the risk of missing out the lesson. As such, i'm thinking of way and hope that when i signed up the course eventually, there would not be any unexepected crop-up during work stuffs.

3rd week of Jan, finally got Ian Tan to return the $40 he owed me. It can be incredible that he had been holding on for 4 months for that small amount!! Nevertheless, thanks to alvis who helped me to get it back.

Kind of made a new friend on her way to home after work while on my way to work.

Entering the damn security-tight place had problem as they barred me from entering the premises citing that I was in there for the wrong reason. Well, i must say, they are doing their job well. But i guess, it's damn stupid also for some reasons that i want to say but i can't (U all know, SINGAPORE what. Can get sued if the govt see what they dun want to hear) So, i'm not saying!!

Went to watch Body #19 with madeline on wednesday. And you can expect to be a very good horror/ghost movie since it's from Thai production. I wasn't let down by the suspense as well as the storyline. Just love the movie. If you all have not watch, pls watch as it's highly recommended, erm by me.

Finally make some time out on weekends to go Ikea to get a frame for a portrait that i got it from thailand 5 weeks ago. Prior to that, I went to driving and yes, everything was going smoothly for me. Clutch and accelerator coordination were good. Get to finally learn reverse for parking. I pushed my drivintg test date to 23 June 08 from 08 Apr 08. Hopefully it's a lucky day for me

Headed down to Tampines Ikea to get a frame with the dimension of 300 by 400 mm. Shopped for a while and got the frame and 10 shirt hangers. Met up with Lekmeng after that as we went to Crocodile Warehouse sale. I must say, it's a major disappointment. There wasn't anything nice to sell. It seemed like all are old products. I just can't believe those polo tee can sell at $89 to $100. It seemed like not suitable for any ages of people. Those buyers must be crazy to buy, if there is! So in the end, I only bought 5 underwear for $9. So much of effort of going down there to get a $9 underwear. YAWN..

Highlight of today's event.
Took 158 from paya lebar to go geylang for dinner. Upon alighting, I realised that my handphone wasn't in my pocket. After checking with my raq and lek meng on my bags and pockets (again), it was kind of confirmed that my mobile phone was left in the bus and I had the intention to CHASE after the bus. I know that's a crazy idea. But somehow, the images of my mother nagging and scolding me appeared and that made me determined to go for it. I checked with the TANs' what's the bus no and where is it from our location then.

After getting the information, I just ran for the bus. The bus was at the next bus stop when I sped off. To me, it was quite a distance away then. Nevertheless, i was determined to get it back. I ran and ran. Seeing the corridor of the shophouses and pavements are crowded, I ventured out and ran to the main road!! After running, I managed to nearly catch up with the bus. It was possible because the condition of the traffic was pretty jammed, so in a way it helped me.

But that's not the end of the story. The bus couldn't turned in to the bus stop as there were a lot of vehicles at the supposed bus-lane. Therefore the bus could only stopped at the main road. That was the time where I nearly caught up with the bus. In fact, I even overtook it. But somehow, the silly me, thought of not getting accident with the bus and other vehicles, didn't went up and try to stop the bus.

So i continued to run again, seeing the bus turning to Mountbatten road. I thought to myself that; Shit! The traffic condition was so much clear. And at that point of time, i was still somewhere in the Geylang's road. When i turned around the corner into mountbatten road, I saw the bus stop at a disgusting long distance away from me. I was thinking, if there wasn't anyone boarding or alighting, everything would be gone. And to add to my disappointment, the bus happened to just reach the bus stop.

All i was thinking was to have a chance for the bus to somehow stop longer. After what i thought that the last passenger had alighted, i thought all chance had gone. But still, i wanted to keep running as long the bus is within my sight. For some strange reason, the bus doors didn't close and some time later, a passenger just alighted. Seeing that situation, i was so encouraged and i forced myself to run even faster though I had to admit i didn't know where i get the energy from.

As soon as i forced msyelf to run faster, I saw the doors closing and starting to move. Luckily fotr me once again, the bus had to stop to give way to vehicle to pass by on the major road channel. Just then, i entered the bus stop and without thinking twice of my image, I knocked really hard onto the side of the bus for a lot of times to signal the bus driver that I am chasing for you, while it was moving out of the bus stop.

I thought. Woah, i finally made it. Went up to the bus. Apologised and explained to him of my situation with my body bending, craving for more oxygen. With the passengers all looking at me, I moved my way in to the seat I was on and was so surprised that my mobile phone was still there!

Lastly, I was so relieved and somehow gathered enough energy to shout across thanks to the bus driver and again with many people eyess looking at me for the whole episode.

Lesson Learnt: With undying determination, right tactics, right system, one can reach their goal.

Happy New Year 2008. Year Of Rat

Had a mini celebration at my home. Rushed home from work and made order on the way. As my parents dun like to celebrate out, therefore we are holding it at home.

Invited my bro's gf to join in as well. We had pizza hut instead of Canadian because the latter can only deliever around 2 hrs later.

$60 flew away in a flash when the delievery man came over with my orders. We ate and had fun chatting with one another.

It was pretty much a sin as i ate a lot of fried foods. But never mind. Exercise will do to cut away the fat.

Realised that 2008 is the year of Rat. Which means all born in 1984 belongs to that category. I had much pretty good luck last year. Hopefully everything will continue on for this year as well.

I decided to take up some short courses. I am thinking of language courses because first of all, it's relatively cheap, second is that it has practical usage of me and thirdly one of the lessons will be on SATURDAY which means i can commit more during work on weekdays. Lastly, the tutor is from her native country. With all these factors, it only reinforced my desire to take up short courses.

The course will be starting on 19th Jan. I doubt anyone will want to join me. Whatever it is, I will most likely take up this lesson. Of course, if anyone wishes to join, kindly join me too. :)
