Old Game, New Interest

Cut my hair recently, took photo of the "before" and "after", but decided not to post it up as I am a Secret Agent for my NS. haha.. Spent $8

Like i mentioned that my bro came back from army and my laptop is currently under servicing, I turned in to watch a Hong Kong drama serial titled: Armed Reaction. I thought it could occupied my whole weekend, but as i was watching on fri nite, my tv got screwed. It went smoked out. -.-

No computer, no tv at home. The TV at the living room is occupied by my parents. Therefore, i had an early sleep at the living room as the burning smell was still lingering in my room.

Watched the drama the whole day as no one booked the TV. Finished box 1 of that drama, awaiting for Yuanqi to finish the remaining.

It was in the mid evening when i was slacking, pondering what to do next, and then i decided to change to running attire and went jogging. It's better to run to in the night time, quite cooling and not much exhaust fumes.

Mentioned at the start of this entry, i had my hair cut in the morning, came back and went to clean up my room a bit. Discovered an old game with a renew interest, which is.....

Tamagotchi!!

Haha, too bad, it dun have silent mode, i am not going to bring this to my workplace!

Happy 19th Birthday, Chat Buddy (JY)

An unexpected early return of my bro, meaning to say that my time on the computer will be strictly limted, therefore i am blogging in advance for tomorrow (22nd June) entry.

Followed by a successful mission by Germs, I am going to honour my words and treat her to meals, which that reminds me that i still owe my buddy of a meal when he went down to thai to helped me pass christmas present to her.

Germs then told me that she wanna take photo with her, which makes me very envy (not jealous) of it. :(

Here it goes:

OK, Germs, i dun know whether to hate or to thank you....

But at the very least, I did manage to "see" her. Isn't that nice?

OK, one of my chat-buddies, Jenyin, will be celebrating her special day today. Happy 19th Birthday to you, it's been long time, since i know you at the age of 13!!. haha. Happy Birthday

$200+++ worth of skin products

Last saturday, I went for facial wash @ Orchard Emerald. Bought $200+++ worth of products and the facial wash session.

Thanks to my mother, being a regular customer, the products price were discounted, otherwise, it can easily reach $300+++

In another seperate situation, my handphone bills for the month of May cost $200. Another posible scenario may arises from the charges of repair of laptop which might amount to another $200+

In tota, for the month of Jun, i'll be spending a total of a projected $600, which a fixed $400+ came from the facial and handphone bills.

Take a look at the products

The $200+++ skin care products

The step-by-step manual. With such heavy usage, i think i need to top up very soon. Bye to my $300 T_T (I can go thailand every 2 months with that funds!!)

Baby Ally

Yingjia, you copied me! :p

A real classic view on "The Pot Calling The Kettle Black"

On my way to work in bus, I was day-dreaming like any other day (some days only). I guess my lame idea was working on something, and I came up with a very real classical saying of "The Pot Calling The Kettle Black"

Remember the ex-vice president of Indonesia, Dr. Habibie? The short ex-vice president?

I believe some of you can still recall the comment made by him to Singapore as the "a little red dot".

From this, i derive this sentence.

The Pot Calling The Kettle Black - A short and small man calling other nation small.

Paying Tribute

I would like to thanks to all the people who were involved directly and indirectly in sending things to thai, on my behalf, to her.

First of all, I would like thanks Alvin who helped me to ask her to take photo and things started from there.

Secondly, thanks to my buddy who helped me bring christmas present to her and of course the trouble of finding her in such a big weekend market, who got her number and that lies in the foundation of more advance & faster communication than email.

Thirdly, I would like to thanks PS and Jov who brought up about the thai trip in May.

Fourth, I would like to thank to all the BKK people (PS, Jov, ST, LM ZW and especially CS) who accomodated the timing and venue/location before and during the meeting.

Fifth, thanks to germs, on her recent holiday-cum-mission, to pass the letter that i wrote to her. Thanks to Soo Teck who was the teacher for my Heart refresher course.

Sixth, a big thank to all friends who that are not mention above in this entry.

Seventh, thanks to Her who is willingly to communicate, and accept those items.

Facial Wash

After using our ground for the police carnival for the racing event, the ex-parade square has been ruined. Take a look at the photo below.

A temporary race course in the middle of Singapore.

I dun know how are they going to clean up, but at least there isn't any distraction at work. My supervisors will not be in the office for mon and tue. This could sound both good and bad news for me.

It's always so tough to go out with my twin during working days. I was told to work on GST-related issue. Of course, being a responsible guy, I couldn't say no. As i would be taking leave the next day, thus, i have to complete it on that day. As such, I finished work at 11 + pm.

I didn't know taking/booking a cab can be quite difficult at this time as I spent nearly 30 mins booking for one. Got one finally and reached home 20 mins with a fare of $12.90. T_T

Went out with twin. Met her up at her house and went for breakfast. Headed to Kallang Sector to get my laptop to Toshiba Service centre for repair. Who knows that i have to pay $100 upfront for just the service charge, excluding the hardware replacement.

Reject the charges they offered, I went down to bugis to get my laptop for service. Headed for lunch then and down to orchard to watch Men In White at The Cathay. Went to Secret Receipe for creamy chocolate cake.

Walked around at PS then took a bus to Cineleisure and The Heeren and we continued to walk. Had dinner at Long John Silver. Went home after it.

Went to work on friday and everything was fine. Met up with Germs after the dinner and asked her for help on a mission when she's on holiday.

Was pulled along by my mother to go orchard for a facial wash. I tell you.. it's one of the most dreadful thing I have to go through. Spent $400+ on me and my mom on the facial wash and products. Spent 3.5 hours in there to let my face suffer; the squeezing, etc. One of the pimples lost so much blood that a machine was needed to take in the blood. OMG.. it's quite disgusting.

Next, move on, the scars from all the squeezing were so obvious and it was so much that i felt like getting a mask and hide it on my journey back home. - No pics were taken because of its ugly state -

As i'm about to send $200 to my mother's account, my father passed me my last month hp bills. knowing that it is definately going to be expensive, I opened it unwillingly and to my horror, the bills printed $201. So, friends of mine, pls use prepaid card of that country to make calls or sms, it is definately more cheaper.

Missed calls are taken into account of bills, so, pls be more considerate of picking up ur friend's calls and please off ur handphone if you dun intend to use on that day. In total, I need to scrimp for this month and no social gathering for the next 2 months. :(

Happy holidaying at thailand, Germaine.

Police Carnival

Work was good on fri as there is Police Carnival held from friday to sunday. Been like a holiday to me that day; so carefree, free from stress.

Went around the carnival after lunch time. Went to play games, and bought some burgers. had the burgers, etc, so much so that i was so full and skipped my dinner.

Preparing..

Aimed..

and shot...

Not bad for a 2nd timer. My last archery shot was last year. Well, Singapore Archery Association, do you want me?

There was also some car & motor racing competition. Exhibit drifting techniques too. Well, since there are cars there, how can they miss out the car queens?

Tomorrow will be the last day, pop by there if you are lucky to see this entry by tonight. Venue is at Old Police Academy, Thomson Road. And not to forget, there is also movie marathon until tomorrow 6 am. Visit there if you all are bored and nothing to do. That's all..

2 things to share...

I will be sharing 2 info things. 1st of all, which is something very interesting with the food we consumed (Tricks for Appetite) & a short dream while on the way home on bus.

First

1. Feed it protein for breakfast. You'll be less hungry later on and end up eating 267 fewer calories during the day. At least that's what happened on days when St. Louis University researchers gave overweight women two scrambled eggs and two slices of jelly-topped toast for breakfast rather than about half that protein.

2. Make it climb a flight of stairs. At home, store the foods that tempt you most way out of reach. For instance, Cornell University food psychologist Brian Wansink, PhD, keeps his favorite soda in a basement fridge. "Half the time I'm too lazy to run down there to get it, so I drink the water in the kitchen."

3. Sleep on it. People who don't get their eight hours of zzz's experience hormonal fluctuations that increase appetite, report researchers.

4. Give it something else to think about. When scientists scanned the brains of people eating different foods, they found that the brain reacts to fat in the mouth in much the same way that the nose responds to a pleasant aroma. So if you feel a craving coming on, apply your favorite scent.

5. Never let it see a heaping plate. The more food that's in front of you, the more you'll eat. So at a restaurant, ask your waiter to pack up half of your meal before serving it to you, then eat the extras for lunch the next day.

6. Put it under the lights. You consume fewer calories at a well-lit restaurant table than you do dining in a dark corner. "In the light, you're more self-conscious and worry that other patrons are watching what you eat," explains Wansink.

7. Talk it down. Entertaining friends with a great story doesn't give you much time to eat up, so you'll probably still have food on your plate when they're done. Once they're finished, call it quits too.

8. Offer it a seat. If you sit down to snack -- and use utensils and a plate -- you'll eat fewer calories at subsequent meals.

9. Satisfy it with soup. Start lunch with about 130 calories worth of vegetable soup and you'll eat 20 percent fewer calories during lunch overall, say Penn State experts.

10. Give it little choice. Packages that contain assorted varieties of cookies, candy, dips, cheese, etc., make you want to try all the flavors. The effect is so powerful, says Wansink, that when people are given 10 colors of M&Ms to munch on, not seven, they eat 30 percent more.

Second

I had this recall from school as a dream. I dozed off as soon as i sat down. Of course, i didn't know i was dreaming when i was sleeping, only to realise when i woke up. Let me share this with you all

I dreamt of my classmate back in primary school. He is one of the people that my other classmates dun like.

  1. He likes to pop in from nowhere to KPO on the things we do/say. While at our classroom, whenever we are talking, HE will popped his head and moved to our direction. [Like those classic Super Mario game, where there is this mushroom head popped out from the ground and move towards you.]
  2. Every thing we talked or mentioned, he likes to put himself into the conversation where in the 1st place we never include him.
  3. He spreads to other people (A) about other people's (B) things without sparing a thought of whether People B will mind at all or not.
  4. He talked senseless thing which he deemed funny, but not to the rest to my classmates
  5. He sticked around.
  6. He didn't know that he spoke something that he shouldn't speak and, worst of all, speak to the wrong person.
  7. He will appear from nowhere whenever we are talking any kind of topics, to join into the conversation

and of course, why the significance of sharing the story? It's because i woke up in horror by his consistent above-mentioned actions.

And why did i consistently face such a weird person in my life? Pri, Sec, Poly, NS..

Anyway, i uploaded all the videos that i shot in Thailand. Feel free to drop by via here

2 videos to sample. A condom ads acted by CS and ZW. Filmed by me. Anyway, it was meant for fun. Just watch.

Ao Nang, Krabi Town, JJ, MBK, Siam Centre + Square + Paragon, metered taxi and tuk tuk

After nearly 7 days of writing this entry and uploading the photos, it's finally done.

A very fun, exciting, relaxing, happy and maybe even romancing short 6D 6N trip in Thai had come to an end on monday night :'(

7 pimples grew 2 days before the thai trip, all the same time! I guess it must be the cough medicine that i had was too strong for my body to take it and as a result grew 7 pimples in an astonishing 1 nite. [yeah, you didn't read it wrong. it's 1 nite]

Had my hair cut a nite prior the trip.

The Budget Terminal

Joined shortly by ZW, PS & Jov (Left to right)

The Krabi party. (I wasn't ready to tidy up my attire but, nevertheless, i still gave a smile)

Now, you know why it is a budget airline with the tix costing 480 Baht.

22nd May 2007

While we were in the middle of air

Fooling around in the plane.

Krabi International Airport

Touched down in Krabi International Airport with Jov, PS, ST, ZW and Me at around mid-evening time. Took taxi and head down to our resort. Ao Nang Paradise Resort.

Aonang Paradise Resort (I know you all can't make it out)

Since it's a budget trip, Jov, PS and me checked in the resort first making them to believe that there are only 3 persons. ST and ZW came in alone respectively to the room after our dinner.

Look at the tv's top left hand corner in the background! Yea, Four-mod

Walked around the area searching for best price for snorkeling, island-hopping. Smsed my thai friend, twin, family & friends.

That's the end, on the 1st nite in thailand. Anyway, the purpose of early arrival was to prepare for 23rd May which is the Day 1 of our programme.

23rd May 2007

Before we checked in to another resort, we went for a 1/2 day Krabi Town tour. We visited places like farms, etc..

fish farm. NEMO

Piggy horse.

and..~ a MOUNTAIN! When i think back, I think we were crazy! We went there to climb 1237 of steps and we took 1 hr 15 mins. and walked 1237 steps down to the ground floor.

The Tiger Cave climbers party. (ST, ZW, Jov + PS & Weida)

While we WERE still energetic.

YAWN. Only at 675 steps :(

Above ground. @ 1237 steps. Buy 4D!! (I'm the first!!)

Buddha. Pic of this before Vesak Day.

On the way to our resort. (& let me introduce..... myself!!)

Anyway, cut short everything. Headed towards pier to go to an island where we checked in to Sunrise Tropical Resort. To my surprise, the hotel is just right in front of the shore. Checked in shortly after introducing and registered ourselves at the reception table. Had a short discussion on where to go after spending almost an hour settling down in the room. Well, looking at the photo below, how can you blame us for staying in the room for so long?

The wonderful bed of the resort

Went to recee the area around the island. Checked out the prices for snorkeling, island-hopping and decided to book the package with our travel agent.

Went to play around at the beach before heading towards massage centre for a nice and relaxing massage.

Funny Situation 1
There are 5 of us wanted to massage, all at the same time. However, there are only 4 staffs. As we have problems communicating our each respective intentions, a lot of misunderstanding were arised. So we spent 15 mins settling the 'problem'.

Funny Situation 2
I was the 1st to go in for massage after an unexpected arrangement as I planned to massage an hour later as my body was stinked and dirty. In the end, i ended up bathing at the massage centre. Well, a fresh experience :)

Signed up for Thai Massage and Facial package. Spent 800 Baht. OMG, i tell you. The massage is the best of all places i went to. Phuket, BKK, Krabi. They had the usual massage, add on was the massage on your head and neck; something that i've been looking for.

Had my facial mask right after the massage, it was another comfortable 1 hr there. So relaxing that I even fall asleep. And i guess that's why my 7 pimples can went off slightly faster.

Had dinner when everybody finished their spa, massages. Headed back to resort, washed up and sleep.

24th May 2007

Set off for snorkeling. Met up with our snorkeling guide. Was given a thai name by him; Khai. I got a feeling that it's a bad name as his colleagues were laughing. Anyway, we board the 'ship'. Found 3 other singaporeans on board too.

We went to different islands for sightseeing. Then down to the water for snorkeling. I must say the snorkeling experiences is not very bad. Saw a lot of marine species and corals. Water was cooling despite so many people were there too. Went to shooting scene of "The Beach". Headed to Phi Phi Island for lunch where we had ice-breaking with the other 3 singaporeans.

Our Agents

On Board. Travelling for sight-seeing.

One of the bird nest 'production factory' in thailand.

Still sight-seeing.

Posing for a (i-forget-the-island-name) island.

The wording read "Weida was here" (Another lame production)

Snorkeling Gear. By the way, that is me.

Went to 3 other spots for sightseeing and snorkeling. Had tonnes of fun at the last spot as we purposely threw bread near to one another and attracted fishes nearby to eat near to them.

The programme ended and off we go. Bid farewell to the guides and our fellow singaporeans.

At Krabi Beach...

We headed back for a bathe and then walked around the beaches at other corner. Dinner settled at Ya Ya Restaurant. Ordered a coconut of pineapple and a YaYa Burger and a cup of chocolate freeze. A very filling dinner.

A coconut of fried rice

YaYa burger. Biggest burger that i came across. (Bigger than Carl's Junior)

Next, went down to "The Last Bar". The guys ordered a tequila shot for me. Drank it. No problem for the 1st 5 mins. Face turned red the next moment and slowly turn a bit dizzy and uneasy. Haha, luckily they didn't shot down the scene in videos. Anyway, that's my limit. I'm not up for drinks.

They called this Tequlia Shot.

Drinking up......

But the sleep was good. Knocked off as soon as i lied onto the bed.

25th May 2007

The check-out day and the OTOT (Own Time Own Target) time [referring to free time and activity]. Continue to explore other places by foot with Jov and PS, the couple while ST and ZW went for sunbathing swimming.

I returned back to the resort after unable to bear my pulling hamstring tensions. Changed to swimming attire and went for a swim and suntanning. The sun is so strong that my skin was grilled to 'bubbles'.

Bathed and packed bag when everybody returned from their activities. Headed down to YaYa restaurant (again) for lunch.

Before checking-out and setting off to Bangkok

Paid for our sampam ride back to Krabi Town jetty. Initially, we thought we could set off but to our amazement, there are another at least 20 people squeeze with us in the same SAMPAN; longtail boat in thai.

The longtail boat we were in.

We all were like -.-" and that's not all. The motor died down 3/4 way of our journey with 20++ people on the longtail boat. All of us gave the "Oh My God' look. But thanks to the low-tide and motor, the boat managed to drift from the momentum. We alighted and walked on the mangrove area.

The swamp where we walked.

"Oh My God" was the word when we saw this, but still have to walk.

Waited for our agent transport to bring us to Krabi International Airport for my very much-awaited next destination; Bangkok!!

The Guy who disallowed me to sleep.

He is very proud of disturbing my sleep. Inspector Sun.. -.-"

Checked in and waited for our plane. Hmm, now i know why i paid $20+ for a tix. We still couldn't see the plane at the time stated on the boarding pass. Anyway, maybe you can't trust the timing set by any travelling company [eg: KTM, Air Asia] from Malaysia. They just never come on time.

Called back to my parents and tell them i am taking plane to Chang Mai. [Sorry Mum, for lying to you. Because i know you wouldn't allow me to go if it's Bangkok.]

Reached 'Su-wan-na-pum' International Airport at around 8.20 pm where we were picked up by our agent and drove us to Samram Place Hotel for checking-in.

Time was 8.16 pm, thai time when we were in the airport.

A happy tourist.

Reinforcement party from Singapore are LM and CS. Went for dinner near to our hotel. Indeed it is a fantastic dinner esp when there are so much fun and talks.

Headed back to hotel room to sleep since we need to wake up early in the morning. (CS and LM are the one sitting right at the back, left to right respectively)

26th May 2007

Woke up for our breakfast.

A very cheerful smile after breakfast

A photo with the trip organisers

Took a cab down to Taling Chan Floating market. The taxi driver didn't know the location so we spent quite long finding taxi who knows how to get there. Nevertheless, we still patiently waited for it.

At Taling Chan Floating Market

Alright, spending nearly half of the morning, we finally reached Taling Chan Floating market and we have some snacks over there. Took taxi yet again to Chinatown for bird nest tea-break and went to a nearby chinese restaurant for dim sum and lunch.

Chinatown

Bird nest first.. and...

(i realised that we all never take any photo for lunch!!)

Hmm, i didn't know i am so famous in thailand.

Next destination -> JJ Market. Went to find her first as she is working there then shopping around with my friends. Wanted to look for her and surprise her but my presence was found and her brother called out for her.

Came here whenever i'm in BKK. AKA JJ Market.

Meanwhile, we went shopping seperately. Jov and PS on their own, and the remaining one are together shopping.

4.55 pm. Headed down to her workplace and look for her. Passed her birthday present personally. And I was introduced to her brother as well. Erm, I forgot his name. Sorry eh. Wanted to get her for a potrait drawing but there was a lot of people queuing up and I sat down while waiting for it. Had some chat with her and her brother.

I must say, that i looked messy on that day. I should have went to toilet to check on myself before looking her up. Nevertheless, i'm elated seeing her again. it's been like, 6 months +.

After some hours of wait, it's finally our turn. Due to the lack of chair he has, we have to take turns and draw the potrait. She sat down first, followed by me. Took about 10+ mins or so for the portrait to finish. Wanted to go out with her for a drink and snacks, but it's a pity that i decided to go against it as I didn't want her to go home late in the night.

Anyway, i went to MBK to find Jov, PS and ST who were there for shopping and dinner. The remaining were at hotel for a rest.

Reached MBK, called and smsed everybody and nobody gave me a reply of their current whereabouts. I spent 45 mins or so walking around hoping to catch Jov, PS and ST. Decided to go back to hotel and up till 3/4 of the journey, Jov called and asked me where was I. And so, i walked back to MBK for dinner @ The Pizza Company.

Headed back to hotel to join with the others. While they were having their dinner, we got ourselves ready to RCA, an area for clubbing. Headed there by taxi. Think the place is quite near to our hotel as we paid some 60 + baht for the fares. [For Your Information: I don't club in singapore, coz i can't drink and can't dance well. Furthermore, it's so expensive to club.]

Went back to hotel after that. Knocked out on my bed after settling down and it was around near 3 am then. (btw, it's already sunday, 27th May 2007)

27th May 2007

Woke up for breakfast, headed down to MBK, Siam Square, Siam Centre, Siam Paragon. Spent slightly more than half a day. Bought adidas shirt for my bro and me as well.

Texted her and asked her whether will she be free to meet up later in the evening for a snack and drinks at her workplace.

Then, rain started to pour in heavily and i asked her whether is she good to meet up. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to. Instead, i met up with Jov and PS to walk along JJ market.

Caught rainbow at JJ Market after the heavy downpour.

Rushed to hotel to put down their stuff and headed down to Suan Lum night market for dinner.

Grilling Prawn.

The BKK Trip Party + Sun Tian, not in this picture.

Their Kbox. and it's really in a box.

Walked around for 3 hours and headed it back to our hotel for a rest.

28th May 2007

Went all to Siam buildings again before meeting her for a lunch and walked around in MBK centre. Thought we could have the time for a movie but after asking the staff for the duration of the movies, I thought the best solution is not to.

Anyway, thought as agreed that we were to meet at hotel @ 4.30 pm and so I parted with her at 4 pm. And in the end, at 4.15 pm, we were still at around MBK centre. -.-" We need an estimated 20 mins walk back to our hotel. As such, everything was delayed and in the end, we set off at around 4.40 pm.

Book a limousine and drove us to 'Su-wan-na-pum' International airport. Passed through all the neccessary administrative procedures and we all had a drink and dinner inside the airport.

Took this photo requested by LM...

Going back...

I dun know why everybody is looking at me...

I'm an angel after all...

Alright, I did a good deed by stopping 2 females from heading into the guy's toilet.

Boarded plane and off we leave Thailand. Left with a very hard feeling though. And going to thailand the next time may prove to be a difficult thing as my parents are not too happy with me travelling overseas so often, especially down to thailand, bangkok and that was why i lied to my mother that i would be going Chang Mai.

Well, the positive thing about this trip is that i had fulfilled my very 1st priority and to be able to take 3 budget airlines in this overseas trip.

Nevertheless, i will still visit Thailand for it's a nice country to visit.

ลาก่อน and see you, hopefully, next year.

Photos will uploading soon. Will update the URL over my next entry.
