8 years of bak kut teh [Festive Season 2]

Busy weekend this week with tonnes of activities.

Friday
Met up with Jennifer, Yifeng, Joshua, Lawrence, Guijie, and me for dinner in Pasta de Waruku in Marina Square. Had a long chat and dinner due to the waiting time. Anyway, the meeting had been long overdue. It was suppose to be like 3 months ago. But, i guess it doesn't kill much as long, everyone turned up.

Turned to starbucks for coffee session. and jennifer mentioned something about thai pub. We are considering of going there one day. The meet-up ended pretty much after that at around 10+ pm, if i am not wrong. Headed to different ways and reached home at around 11.30 pm.

Saturday
Anticpating the programme next day on saturday, I can't really sleep well. Prepared camera, passport, wallet with cash, extra batteries. I guess it's the fatigue from all these and the friday activites, i finally lie on the bed at around 2+ am.

Intended to wake up at 6.45 am but i missed out my alarm clock. Luckily for me, i woke up someone slightly later and rushed off to prepare myself and headed down to kranji mrt station to meet up with lekmeng and raquel before going to causeway.

To my pleasant horror, I was handed a S$150 Fred Perry voucher from LM and Raq. Ok, seriously, i dun know what to say. I can't just say thanks for this present. I did complain about the lost of my 2 fred perry shirts but i am not the person who indulge in branded goods. But then, thanks, and it's all i can say.

Stepped on the causeway bridge, and i wasthinking of taking some photos. But there was a message saying that the memory is full! Take a look at the memory card slot, it was empty. Fucking empty!! I cursed, sweared, and scolded of my brother throughout the whole trip. And what to do especially when i had cleared the singapore custom!

Met up with Caosheng after we cleared the malaysia immigration, and he brought us around to places. I love it.

We had western breakfast. Nothing of a great deal of it.

An emotional comeback to (but not) this restaurant for missing out bak kut teh for 8+ years. Seriously, the food can't be comparable to Singapore.

My lunch.

And I enjoy the traditional way the tea cups were prepared; using the tea to rinse through the cups in the above shown bucket, to clean away all the bacteria and germs in the cups. Then water off the tea by overturning the cup into the bucket and that's how the tea were served. Importantly, such a traditional (to me) were not found in singapore.

Headed down to Jusco shopping centre for some urban window shopping. Nothing great banged onto me, except for a couple of moden decoration items, but raquel got one shirt from nike and lekmeng got 2 books from popular there.

Mentioned something about going for penang laksa but it never materalise as it was quite late when we first discussed it. Anyway, we got off from there for seafood restaurant.

No photos were taken due to the above mentioned situation. We had 2 crabs with salted egg gravy on it, with kai lan, omelette egg, and Lao Shu Fen.

Went to a bar-like cafe for a drink and chit-chat. The environment was so cosy.

Old-school.

Very interesting photo shoot.

And a (small) bucket of drink.

And a shop was setup inside this cafe. They do have wireless in it too!

Left the place for causeway at around 10pm. Apologies for pressuring lekmeng and raquel. Cleared of entering Singapore in around 10 mins. Took bus 170 back to kranji mrt where in the middle of the journey, i got a vehicle escorting for me.

Sunday
The programme doesn't end up with me going back home from kranji mrt. I met up with clarence, mandy, pengxiang, xuemei for overnight KTV session. We were assigned to VIP room for 5 person. It's a heaven for us as there was disco light, stage smoke (dry ice), free flow of drinks.

Our room.

We sang from 11.30 till 5.30 am for just $27.75. But i knocked out for a while at around 5+ am. Resume singing when it's my turn.

Slept at around 7 am and woke up an hour later to go to temple for praying. Back up at home, for breakfast and knocked out at 9 am all the way until 5 pm.

Thanks caosheng for the guide. =)

Exclusive Entry!

Before i added on to the Festive Entry 2 entry, a second half break in between.

A slight change recently at work. I asked my mother to prepare lunch for me to bring it to work. As part of expenditure cut. Well, i hope that the readers wouldn't think of me being a miser as to go so far to save money. Just that i have not enough to make any investment, so this is a beginning.

So much so for a brief introduction, my congrats to Sun Tian for getting a partner. Hopefully, both of them will work things out.

Took some photos at some creature that i saw before, but not in its nature color.

Lizard!

Got my 2nd batch of poly friends out for my birthday celebration, not much anything to highlight. They were very tired as well and still making their way out to meet up rather than to be at home.

Slacked at Mccafe and chit chatted a bit. Order some hot drinks as i felt that i shouldn't be drinking too much of the cold. Order a cup of espresso and a cake. To my horror, the cups were very small. It was charged for $2.20.

Scale 1: Comparing with the other size of dessert.

Scale 2: Length of the cup. Please also note that the height of the cup is not equivilant to the height of the drink in the cup.

Scale 3: Circumference of the cup.

Take you ruler out and take down this measurement and see for yourself the actual size in 3-Dimensions.

Festive Month 1

With my birthday approaching, to me, it also means that the year-end festive celebrations are on its way as well.

Anyway, I guess my birthday celebrations had been concluded. I would like to thank my colleagues who celebrated my birthday, followed on by my 2 groups of secondary friends, and 2 groups of primary friends.

Anyway, this entry is not meant to talk about the number of celebrations that i had, but the holidays that are coming up. All just in, 2 months!
  1. Hari Raya
  2. Christmas
  3. New Year
  4. Chinese New Year
Though i am not a superstitious person, but all of these festive celebrations are greatly appreciated after a series of unfortunate events. Ok, i dun want to sound so pussy here, keep on saying how luck put me down, instead of taking a look at myself.

Anyway, some pictures of the celebrations.

With the 1st grp of sec sch friends.

With the 2nd grp of sec friends.

With my 1st grp of poly friends. PS: Phobia entering Fish n Co.

Not to forgetting the sms that stormed into my phone from 28th Nov 2008, 2355 hrs till 29th Nov 2008, 0030 hrs, keeping my fingers very busy reply and thanking them. Of course, friends that sent after 0030 hrs.

Thank you very much.
